Zohran Mamdani is set to be sworn in as the city's next mayor on New Year's Day after winning the election to the post in November. The incoming Democratic mayor will have two inauguration ceremonies: a private swearing-in just after midnight on Thursday, and a public event at City Hall at 1 p.m. ET that same day.
