After chucking up 20 shots from deep across its lackluster first half effort in an eventual 85-79 home victory over the unranked Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets on Wednesday, Jon Scheyer's fourth Duke basketball team attempted 14 threes in the first half against the unranked Florida State Seminoles (7-7, 0-2 ACC) on Saturday.

Florida State men's basketball pushed No. 6 Duke to the wire on Saturday, but 28 points from guard Isaiah Evans were enough for Duke to win.

While the Seminoles came back alive for a late rally, Scheyer’s switch in defensive strategy was the difference maker in the game. Still, Saturday was hardly what the Blue Devils hoped would happen in a trip to the Sunshine State.

A former Duke basketball player and a Villanova product enjoyed a humorous exchange about the programs' meeting four years ago.

Five-star prospect Deron Rippey Jr. committed to Duke on Tuesday in a live announcement on CBS Sports HQ as the highly coveted point guard capped a busy recruitment by revealing his long-awaited college decision. Rippey chose the Blue Devils over NC State, Miami, Tennessee and Texas.

After Georgia Tech singed the nets to lead at halftime, Duke used a defensive switch to spur a comeback win as it began ACC play.

Cam Boozer was fouled with less than 30 seconds left, and he'd make both to make it a 5-point game. Kobe MaGee responded with a ridiculous three to cut it to two, and FSU would play the foul game. Isaiah Evans made both to push it to four, and that would do it, as FSU would miss on the other end. Duke would go on to win 91-87.

As head coach Jon Scheyer said postgame on the Blue Devils Sports Network, Duke played on its heels for much of the game after Florida State never trailed in the first half. But like majority of other games this season, Duke remained composed, using its poise down the stretch to pull out a close road win.

Florida State just lost a tough one on the road against UNC, and now they get to face the rival of the Tar Heels.
