Microsoft LaserMouse not working properly after windows update I have been having problems with my Microsoft Laser Mouse 6000 V.2 for about a week now. My computer did an auto update while I was at work one day, it was to an update prior to 20H2, and now my mouse acts like the buttons are pushed down and wont work.
I was using a plug and play, "Verbatim" mini optical mouse. The right click button stopped working, so I bought a "Targus" plug and play mouse. When I plug the new mouse into a USB port, on my Compaq Presario F500 Notebook, nothing happens. The old mouse will still work (minus right click button). I am running Vista Home Premium.
Let me add some information to the “mystery”. First, the problem started happening immediately after I received my new desktop, which runs Windows 7; I had retained the wireless keyboard and mouse from my old desktop (on which the mouse worked fine).
Change the batteries if wireless, try another USB port, reset mouse from button on bottom if available. Try the mouse in another PC to isolate if it's the mouse or Windows causing this. Try another mouse in this PC to confirm if Windows is the problem.

The other day my keyboard, mouse and usb drive just stopped working. While doing some system troubleshooting I found that my driver has a problem. I swear I feel like i have done everything online
I have swapped new batteries for the mouse, and set the Bluetooth Support Services Properties>Startup type to Automatic and Bluetooth Support Services Properties>Log On to 'Local System account.' I have tried to turn on Bluetooth Settings>Options>'Allow Bluetooth devices to find this computer'.
