The solution is to have a wheel like those Logitech mice. Its one of the major reasons the G502 Hero is my favourite mouse. The wheel is left in permanent spin mode, wonderful feature. The bump stop action can be added/removed with a button press, should you want that ever.

To top it off, warranty support has gone downhill in my country and I have to rely on the retailer for warranty support. I've always used Logitech mice for their software, support and build quality, but for my next mouse, I think I'll go with a different brand.
